Privacy Policy

Tank, the Saurly triceratops
The short version
  • The only thing we ask for is your email, and only if you join the waitlist.
  • We use it to tell you when Saurly is back. Nothing else without asking.
  • Ideas you type into the builder demo never leave your browser.
  • No ads, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.

This policy explains how Aresiant Inc. ("Aresiant", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information on saurly.com. Saurly is now part of Aresiant, so Aresiant is responsible for this site. We are based in Ontario, Canada.

We handle personal information in line with:

  • Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA);
  • Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL);
  • Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, for residents of Quebec;
  • the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for people in Europe;
  • US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where they apply.

1. Who is responsible

Aresiant Inc., Ontario, Canada, is responsible for personal information collected through saurly.com. Under the GDPR, Aresiant Inc. is the "controller".

We have named a Privacy Officer who is accountable for how we handle personal information and for answering your questions and requests. You can reach the Privacy Officer at hello@aresiant.com. Please put "Privacy" in the subject line.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Your email address, if you join the waitlist with the Notify me form. The form also contains a hidden field that helps us filter out spam bots. People never see or fill it in.
  • Messages you send us by email, including your email address and anything you choose to write.

Giving us your email is voluntary. Everything on the site works without it. Without it, we just can't tell you when Saurly is back.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • Saved on your device only. The site uses your browser's local storage for two small items: saurly-hi (your arcade high score) and saurly-notify (whether you've already joined the waitlist). They stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

What we don't collect

  • The builder demo runs entirely in your browser. Ideas you type into it are not sent to us or stored by us.
  • We don't set cookies on saurly.com, and we don't use analytics, advertising pixels or any cross-site tracking.
  • We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health, financial or government ID details. Please don't send it to us.

3. How we use it

  • To email you when Saurly comes back, and about the new Saurly features and services when they launch.
  • To reply when you write to us.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we won't add your email to unrelated marketing lists. We don't use your information for profiling or for decisions made solely by automated means.

4. Consent and unsubscribing

When you press Notify me, you give Aresiant Inc. your express consent, under CASL, to email you about Saurly's return.

  • Every email we send will identify us, include our contact details and include a working unsubscribe link.
  • We act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as CASL requires.
  • You can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@aresiant.com with the word "unsubscribe".

Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run this site. They work under terms that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions:

ProviderWhat they do for usLocation
VercelHosts the site, delivers pages and runs the waitlist formUnited States and global edge network
ResendDelivers waitlist sign-ups and our emailsUnited States
Google (Gmail)Our team inbox, where sign-ups and your emails arriveUnited States and other locations

We may also disclose information:

  • if the law requires it;
  • to protect our rights, our users or the safety of others;
  • as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

6. International transfers

Because our providers operate internationally, your information may be stored or processed outside your country, including in the United States. There it may be accessible to courts and authorities under local law.

Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for transfers out of the EU or UK, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum to them.

7. How long we keep it

  • Waitlist emails: until we have told you that Saurly is back, and for up to 12 months after that. We delete your email sooner if you unsubscribe or ask us to. If Saurly has not relaunched within 24 months of your sign-up, we delete your email.
  • Emails you send us: up to 24 months. If they become part of a project with Aresiant, our client records policy applies instead.
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period under its own retention policy.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it, including in a portable format;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information;
  • withdraw your consent at any time;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.

To make a request, email hello@aresiant.com. We may need to confirm that the email address is yours before we act on it. Requests are free unless they are clearly unfounded or excessive. We respond within the time the law sets:

  • 30 days under PIPEDA and Quebec law;
  • one month under the GDPR, extendable where the law allows;
  • 45 days under US state laws.

If you have a concern, please contact us first. You can also complain to:

  • the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada;
  • the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, if you live in Quebec;
  • your local data protection authority, if you are in the EU or UK.

9. Notice for US residents

In the last 12 months, we have collected these categories of personal information through saurly.com:

  • Identifiers: your email address. You give it to us, and we use it for the waitlist.
  • Internet or network activity: server log data. It is collected automatically and used to deliver and secure the site.

We disclose these only to the service providers listed above, for those business purposes.

  • We have not sold or "shared" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have no actual knowledge of doing so for anyone under 16.
  • We don't collect sensitive personal information.

You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

We don't track you across sites, so there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. If we ever add tracking, we will honour those signals.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including:

  • encryption in transit (HTTPS);
  • two-factor authentication;
  • least-privilege access for our team.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will report it to the Privacy Commissioner and notify the people affected, as the law requires. We keep a record of any breach.

11. Earlier versions of Saurly

If you used an earlier version of Saurly and have a question about information from that service, email hello@aresiant.com and we will help.

12. Children

saurly.com is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their email, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when Saurly relaunches with new features. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes that affect waitlist members, we will tell you by email before they take effect.

Version history: October 4, 2026, first version.
